Other Village Parking: Watch the signs! There is a 2 hour limit throughout most of Cooperstown. The village hires a person to mark tires and hand out tickets. You will get ticketed.
Historically, the parking lot at Doubleday Field has had free and unlimited parking.  Unfortunately, the Cooperstown Village Trustees passed a law toward the end of 2007 that will phase in paid parking within the village.  Recent discussions have centered around installing paid parking meters at Doubleday Field before the 2008 tourist season.  Sorry...
Handicapped Parking is very limited.  If you will be visiting the Hall of Fame, call them to see about a handicap parking permit. (888.425.5633)  You can also contact the Village police department to find out about other spots. (607.547.2500)
RV's, Busses, Other Vehicles over 20': There is a 20' length limit for parking on the street in Cooperstown.  There are a handful of RV and Bus parking spots behind the Chamber of Commerce.  If you are towing a vehicle behind your RV, you will need to drop the vehicle before you enter the parking area.  There is only one way in and out.  You must back up to either park or exit.  Do not enter the Doubleday Field Parking Lot!  You cannot park there and chances are you will get stuck trying to maneuver through it.  Before arriving, you can contact the Village police department to find out more (607.547.2500).  If you are bringing a bus to visit the Hall of Fame, contact them directly as they have designated drop off and pick up areas for groups (888.425.5633).

Biking.  Around the Village is fine, but please do not plan on biking on Route 28 unless you are very experienced (and well-insured).  There are no Bike Lanes on Route 28, traffic is heavy and the speed limit is 55.  But there are very beautiful scenic bike routes in the area.  Check out Cranks from Cooperstown.

Weather.  Evenings in Cooperstown can be quite chilly--even in July and August.  Bring a light jacket and pants for yourself.  Our temperature in the summer is usually in the mid to high 70's
Cell PhonesThe Cooperstown area has limited cell phone reception.  Verizon has the best service.   Some cell phone companies have no towers in the Cooperstown area and you may not be able to use your cell phone at all.  Check with your company before you arrive.
